The following is a press release from Investigation Discovery:

Discovery Consumer Products, the licensing arm of Discovery Communications, today announced The Investigation Discovery Wine Club, the first wine club inspired by a major television network. Week after week tens of millions of viewers are glued to their TV screens watching ID’s riveting mystery and suspense programming, and now they can ‘crack the case’ at home with the first-ever pairing of true crime with true wines.

Launching June 1, 2017, each ID Wine Club shipment will include six bottles of wine. The selection will include both internationally sourced wines from around the world, as well as collectible wines inspired by ID like “The Perfect Accomplice” or Joe Kenda’s “My, My, My Merlot” and “A Wine to Remember” based on the hit show “A Crime to Remember.” Enjoyable and deliciously mysterious, these Investigation Discovery-themed wines are the perfect partners in crime for fans, allowing members to experience their favorite ID shows while investigating the world of wine.

“Investigation Discovery is the #1 network in America for women and has an incredibly dedicated fanbase.  The new ID Wine Club provides a criminally fun way to enjoy—and toast—the network beyond the screen,” said Leigh Anne Brodsky, Executive Vice President, Discovery Global Enterprises. “We know that members will love the opportunity to investigate new wines while they watch true crime investigations unfold on screen.”

“We are thrilled to bring fans of Investigation Discovery their very own Wine Club featuring a collection of international and ID-inspired wines,” said Howard Jackowitz, Co-Founder of Wines That Rock. “Our goal is to tap into the passion of the ID fans.  In the same way that Investigation Discovery provides mystery, intrigue and stories to their audiences, the ID Wine Club invites ID fans to crack open a bottle and join us on a journey of discovery – telling the back stories of premium wines from around the world, along with one-of-a-kind ID-themed wines.”

The first of the ID-themed wines will include a Monterey County Merlot, Central Coast Sauvignon Blanc and a Paso Robles Red Blend. They all come with tasting notes that reveal the real facts and true stories behind each wine.

Members looking to crack the case can sign up now to receive three exclusive ID-themed wines and three internationally-sourced wines for only $49.95 (shipping included). After the first shipment, members can rate the wines they receive to improve their selections. Just as a viewer’s taste in ID programs change over time, the same can happen with wine.

The ID Wine Club launch will be supported through various initiatives starting with a nationally advertised French Quarter sweepstakes, the ‘True Crime Tour’ to New Orleans. Two winners will win a three-day, four-night tour of New Orleans’ most infamous crime scenes, exploits and best-kept secrets.

Lovers of true crime and fine wine can sign up or find more information at http://www.wineclubid.com/. Wines will be available starting on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
