Fairmont and Air Canada team up for luxury Après in the Air package

In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Air Canada have partnered for the luxury package Après in the Air, which offers a unique experience at three of Fairmont’s most well-known Canadian properties.

According to a Fairmont press release, the package (whose price starts at $300,000 and is available until December 31, 2017) includes a round trip for 58 people by private charter with Air Canada’s all Business Class private charter service, Jetz, as well as stays at Fairmont Château Laurier, Fairmont Le Château Montebello and Fairmont Tremblant. The adventure begins with the transformation of the private jet into a Fairmont-inspired ski chalet, creating an “après ski” experience at 30,000 feet, and continues once wheels touch down in Canada.

Each Fairmont destination offers several activities, including dog sledding, ice skating, snowmobiling, ice fishing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, skiing,and curling. To highlight Fairmont’s traditional Canadian heritage, inspired cuisine from notable Canadian chefs Louis Simard, Tim Wasylko, and Éric Beaupré is featured at each respective stop on the journey. Guests will also be able to enjoy pool and spa treatments Fairmont Le Château Montebello, which Fairmont says is “the world’s largest log cabin” ; explore the scenic village at the foot of the mountain from Fairmont Tremblant; and feel instantly transported to a French château amidst the nation’s capital at the landmark Fairmont Château Laurier.

In addition, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has also launched the Travel North package, encouraging travel to Canada in honor of Canada 150. Also available through December 31, 2017, the package offers 15 percent off the daily rate, a $150 (Canadian dollars) hotel credit and 1,500 Aeroplan miles per stay (500 base + 1000 bonus).

Air Canada adds non-stop flights from several U.S. cities for 2017

Air Canada is adding new non-stop services from six U.S. cities,  beginning in the spring of 2017.

The airline will offer non-stop flights from these routes:

  • San Antonio, Texas to Toronto (daily, as of May 1, 2017)
  • Memphis, Tennessee to Toronto (daily, as of May 1, 2017)
  • Savannah, Georgia to Toronto (six times a week, available May 1 to October 15, 2017)
  • Phoenix, Arizona to Vancouver (daily, as of May 1, 2017)
  • Denver, Colorado to Vancouver (twice a day, as of May 18, 2017)
  • Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas to Montreal (daily, as of May 26, 2017)

Existing winter-only service from Phoenix to Vancouver is expanded to now operate year-round.

UPDATE: On December 20, 2016, Air Canada began offering non-stop service between Toronto and Port of Spain, Trinidad.
