Ben & Jerry’s launches Moo-phoria line of ice cream with less fat and calories

February 7, 2018

The following is a press release from Ben & Jerry’s:

For ice cream lovers who only indulge on special occasions or limit themselves to a weekly treat, Ben & Jerry’s has created Moo-phoria™, a new line of light ice cream with satisfyingly euphoric flavors. Suddenly, Wednesday is the new weekend!

Moo-phoria pints are full of all the wonderful chunks and swirls that fans adore, along with rich and creamy vanilla, chocolate, caramel and peanut butter flavors. What’s missing? Sixty to seventy percent fat and at least 35% of the calories found in traditional ice cream. Each ½ cup serving of Moo-phoria has 140-160 calories. And like all Ben & Jerry’s flavors, Moo-phoria doesn’t have artificial sugar substitutes or sugar alcohols.

“Ben & Jerry’s tries to offer a little bit of something for everyone,” said Dena Wimette, Senior Innovation Manager. “We’re excited to have an incredible new option for our fans who say they can’t be trusted with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s in their freezers.”

Moo-phoria pints are available in three hard-to-resist flavors:

  • Chocolate Milk & Cookies—Chocolate and vanilla light ice cream swirled with chocolate chip cookies. 140 calories per ½ cup serving.
  • Caramel Cookie Fix—Vanilla light ice cream with shortbread cookies and salted caramel swirl. 150 calories per ½ cup serving.
  • PB Dough—Chocolate light ice cream with gobs of chocolate chip peanut butter cookie dough. 160 calories per ½ cup serving.

In addition to the famous chunks and swirls, Ben & Jerry’s sources organic milk and cream for the base mix of each Moo-phoria flavor.

Moo-phoria is coming soon to grocery stores nationwide for a suggested MSRP of $4.89. Fans can use the Ben & Jerry’s flavor locator to find a store or Scoop Shop near them. Moo-phoria will also be available at Ben & Jerry’s online store at www.store.benjerry.com.

The following is a press release from Ben & Jerry’s:

Launching a new line of ice cream flavors in mid-January might seem counter-intuitive, but the Flavor Gurus at Ben & Jerry’s have always played by their own, creative rules. This year the ice cream company is dishing up an innovative line of truffle-inspired indulgence (one with a cold brew coffee base!), two more flavors of Non-Dairy deliciousness, and new takes on enjoying long-standing fan favorite flavors in Pint Slices.

“We wanted to bring the WOW factor to our fans for 2018,” said Craig Koskiniemi who helped create the dynamic lineup, from Pint Slice flavors to the truffle-laden lineup additions. “As a foodie at home AND at work, I’m inspired to come up with creative new combinations like a cold brew coffee-based Ben & Jerry’s flavor. These are guaranteed to keep the love of ice cream strong,” added the Flavor Guru.

Ben & Jerry’s builds on its newest novelty innovation, Pint Slices, a portable, on-the-go ice cream bar with all the chunks and swirls of its pint lineup. The ice cream maker is unveiling more fan-favorite flavors in this fantastically fun format.

Cherry Garcia—This legend-dairy lineup leader has been one of the most-requested flavors for Pint Slices. Fans don’t have to wait any longer. Cherry ice cream bars with cherries & fudge flakes, covered in a dark chocolatey coating.

Tonight Dough—Jimmy Fallon’s beloved flavor was one of our most successful launches in pints. Now you can get your hands on it as a Pint Slice. Caramel ice cream bars with chocolate cookie swirls & gobs of peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough covered in a dark chocolatey coating. If that’s not euphoric enough for you, Jimmy is also donating all his proceeds to the SeriousFun Children’s Network.

Coffee, Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz—A fan favorite that packs a caffeine pick-me-up. Coffee ice cream bars with espresso bean fudge chunks covered in a dark chocolatey coating with cocoa nibs.

To celebrate the launch of the newest Pint Slice flavors, Ben & Jerry’s will go west to amp up the euphoria for fans in Los Angeles with a special pop-up Pint Slice carnival and ride experience. From 11 am – 8 pm today, fans can get in on the fun at the corner of Hollywood and Vine for a special street carnival complete with Pint Slice inspired games, photo booth, and an oversized Pint Slice swing. Tunes provided by iconic record store Amoeba Music (DJ Monalisa from 4 – 8pm).

Truffle Pints

The Truffle Pint lineup includes three decadent flavors with some of the biggest chunks you’ll find in a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. Spooning out the soft, sweet truffles inside these new flavors will make you a certified chunk spelunker.

Chocolate Shake It—Chocolate malt milkshake ice cream with chocolate cookie-covered fudge truffles and marshmallow swirls.

Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake—Caramel chocolate ice cream with graham cracker-covered cheesecake truffles and chocolate cookie swirls.

Chillin’ the Roast—Cold brew coffee ice cream with chocolate cookie-covered coffee liqueur truffles and fudge swirls.

Ben & Jerry’s launches One Love flavor inspired by Bob Marley

The following is a press release from Ben & Jerry’s:

“One love, one heart…” So begins one of the most recognized songs in reggae history. Bob Marley’s memorable refrain is a call for global compassion, and is a perfect anthem for Ben & Jerry’s latest flavor, One Love. The flavor concoction that came to fruition in partnership with the Marley family pays homage to the legendary performer and his vision for a better world.

A portion of the proceeds from each One Love pint sold will benefit Jamaica’s One Love Youth Camp, a program run by The Bob Marley Foundation and Partners for Youth Empowerment. After the flavor enjoyed tremendous success in the United Kingdom last year, One Love is now making a splash on this side of the pond by sharing its mission-driven deliciousness with fans in the U.S. One Love is an enchanting harmony of banana ice cream, caramel and cookie swirls, and chocolatey peace signs.

The Marley-inspired flavor and partnership will be celebrated May 22nd when Ziggy Marley, musician and eldest son of Bob Marley, will host performances by Aaron Nigel Smith and others at an invitation-only party at the iconic Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip. The kickoff will be followed immediately by the first official listening party of Bob Marley’s reimagined Exodus 40 album – produced by Ziggy and reissued for its 40th anniversary.

In song and in words, Ziggy Marley epitomizes his father’s spirit in saying: “The One Love Youth Camp positively affects youth in Jamaica, providing social and interpersonal tools they can use throughout life. The youth are our future and we are thankful for our partnership with Partners for Youth Empowerment and Ben & Jerry’s.”

In a world of uncertainty, there is a lot to be learned from Marley. “Bob Marley stood for more than just music – he advocated for social change and inspired millions to think about peace, love, and equality,” said Jerry Greenfield, Ben & Jerry’s CoFounder. “Ben & Jerry’s has long strived to champion love and social justice, and by partnering with the Marley family we’re happy to play a small role in supporting Marley’s vision for a sweeter world.”

No need to wait in vain for this flavor. Fans can find this limited batch flavor in Scoop Shops & retailers nationwide. For more information about One Love Youth Camp and the One Love ice cream flavor, check out: www.Benjerry.com/onelove
