The following is a press release from Creamistry:

Creamistry – known for their innovative menu items and fresh take on the dessert world – is officially launching their Ruby flavor along with a new creation and liquid nitrogen ice cream cake, making them the first U.S.-based ice cream concept to introduce the highly-popular flavor.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time for us,” said Creamistry founder and CEO Jay Yim. “We can’t wait for everyone across the country to experience this unique flavor that has absolutely taken the globe by storm, and we are thrilled to be able to introduce it through our ice cream.”

Creamistry customers will be able to enjoy Ruby Cacao ice cream all summer, starting Monday, June 3. Ruby Cacao Ice Cream Cakes will launch at participating locations on Monday, June 10.

Ruby Cacao Ice Cream (Photo courtesy of Creamistry)
  • Ruby Cacao Ice Cream flavor
Available as an entirely new ice cream flavor, Ruby Cacao is delicious by itself or can be customized with toppings and sauces. It can also be turned into a deliciously whipped, custom NitroShake or ice cream sandwich.

  • Ruby Cacao Creation
Featuring Ruby Cacao ice cream and fresh strawberries and blueberries to enhance the natural berry-like sweetness of Ruby Cacao, topped with mini dark chocolate chips to help deepen its flavor.

  • Ruby Cacao Ice Cream Cake
Featuring Ruby Cacao ice cream, vanilla sponge cake, and fresh cream adorned with Ruby chocolate shards. The cakes will be available at the following stores: Aliso Viejo, Arizona (all locations), Bakersfield, Carmel Valley, Clairemont Mesa, Clovis, Corona, Cupertino, Eastvale, Irvine, Las Vegas, Menifee, National City, Redondo Beach, Rowland Heights, San Marcos, and Temecula.

Alongside white, milk and dark chocolate, Ruby has been dubbed the new, fourth chocolate. Naturally pink without any added flavors or colors, the Ruby flavor is derived from the ruby cocoa bean available only in Ecuador, Brazil and Ivory Coast. It features a slightly fruity, berry-like flavor rounded out by its smooth and creamy base profile, making it ideal as an ice cream offering.

Here’s how Creamistry works: Customers choose a portion size, then an ice cream base (Signature Premium, Organic, Vegan Coconut, Vegan Cashew, or Non-Dairy Sorbet) and flavor. Then the fun begins with the addition of premium toppings and upgrades including candies, cookies and cereals, fresh fruit, sauces, made-to-order waffles, and freshly baked brownies. Each scoop of ice cream is hand-crafted to order using liquid nitrogen – a startling -321° F! Creamistry’s unique freezing process results in fresh ice cream that is luxuriously rich and decadently creamy.

“We know how important it is to continuously search for ways to advance desserts,” said Yim.  “It’s a privilege to bring Ruby Cacao to our customers across the country. We will continue to strive for cutting-edge ingredients and bring the highest quality desserts to our customers.”

About Creamistry
Founded in 2013 and franchising since 2014, Creamistry is an Irvine, California-based franchise that serves made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream using all natural and organic ingredients that can be customized with more than 60 flavors and toppings. Angry Orchard Cider Company and New York City-based Davey’s Ice Cream have teamed up for National Ice Cream Day (July 15) to give the classic ice cream scoop a hard cider twist with this year’s hottest new drink, Angry Orchard Rosé hard cider1.

  • Rosé CreamCider: Your Rosé cider creamsicle dreams have come true. This refreshing flavor swirls Davey’s signature homemade Sweet Cream Ice Cream base with an Angry Orchard Rosé cider-infused sorbet. The result: a perfect taste combination of rich, sweet ice cream with bright, delicious apple sorbet.
  • Pine-Apple Hibiscus Rosé Sorbet: A vibrant sorbet flavor that takes your taste buds on a tropical getaway. Starting with Angry Orchard Rosé cider as the base, the recipe incorporates fresh pineapple juice and hibiscus to enhance the natural fruit and floral notes in the cider. This vivid, rosy-hued sorbet is as equally refreshing as it is drool-worthy.

To kick off the National Ice Cream Day celebrations, Rosé CreamCider and Pine-Apple Hibiscus Rosé sorbet will be available at select Davey’s Ice Cream locations on Friday, July 13– Sunday, July 15 and at the Angry Orchard in Walden, New York on Sunday, July 15, while supplies last.

“We are always looking for refreshing and unexpected ways for drinkers to enjoy cider,” says Ryan Burk, head cider maker at Angry Orchard. “For National Ice Cream Day, we wanted to see if we could deliver the essence of our Rosé cider in the form of a cool treat and found a great partner in Davey’s, whose passion for innovative and unique ingredients resonates in each of the recipes we’ve crafted together.”

For over 20 years, the cider making team at Angry Orchard has been experimenting with ingredients and techniques to give drinkers new ciders that are complex and balanced. Angry Orchard is committed to creating ciders using high-quality ingredients, including Rosé, which is made with rare red flesh apples from France. Similarly, Davey’s Ice Cream has been crafting distinctive, one-of-a-kind flavors since 2013 that New Yorkers can’t get enough of.

“Davey’s Ice Cream is dedicated to making ice cream the right way: no frills, no fuss, just churning out classic American ice cream hand-crafted by real people using real ingredients,” says David Yoo, owner of Davey’s Ice Cream. “As we team up with Angry Orchard this summer, we look forward to continuing age-old culinary traditions through our creative approach to making each lick of Rosé CreamCider and Pine-Apple Hibiscus Rosé sorbet a memorable experience.”

To experience both limited-edition Angry Orchard Rosé cider-infused flavors, please visit select Davey’s Ice Cream locations in New York City starting Friday, July 15.

  • Davey’s East Village at 137 First Avenue in New York City will exclusively sell Rosé CreamCider by the scoop and pints of Rosé CreamCider and Pine-Apple Hibiscus Rosé sorbet.
  • Davey’s Williamsburg at 201 Bedford Ave in Brooklyn, NY will exclusively sell Pine-Apple Hibiscus Rosé sorbet by the scoop.
  • Davey’s Greenpoint at 74 Meserole Ave in Brooklyn, NY will sell pints of Rosé CreamCider and Pine-Apple Hibiscus Rosé sorbet.

Angry Orchard will also have limited quantities of Rosé CreamCider and Pine-Apple Hibiscus Rosé sorbet available for purchase by the scoop for drinkers who visit the Angry Orchard (2241 Albany Post Road, Walden, NY) on Sunday, July 15.

Quantities are limited. Flavors will be available while they last. The ice cream/sorbet contains alcohol, and you must be at least 21 years old to enjoy.

About Angry Orchard Cider Company:

Angry Orchard Cider Company’s cider makers have been experimenting with apple varieties and unique flavors to develop hard cider recipes for more than 20 years. The cider makers have travelled the world to find the best apples for cider making and chose specific varieties, like French bittersweet apples from Normandy and culinary apples from Italy and the United States, based on each cider’s flavor profile. In November 2015, Angry Orchard established a home for cider research and development called the Cider House, located on a historic apple orchard in the New York Hudson River Valley.

Angry Orchard makes a variety of cider styles, including Angry Orchard Crisp Apple, made from traditional cider apples and tastes just like biting into a fresh apple, and Angry Orchard Rosé, made with rare red flesh apples from France. Angry Orchard is committed to drinker education and awareness-building to help grow the category for all cider makers.

About Davey’s Ice Cream:

In 2013, New York City native David Yoo unexpectedly entered the ice cream scene after a quiet exeunt from the graphic design world. After capturing the East Village’s heart with ice cream flavors made from scratch using locally sourced milk, cream, house-made nut pastes and pastries, Davey’s Ice Cream has expanded across NYC and Brooklyn. They are now happily based in Greenpoint. Davey’s Ice Cream is dedicated to creating innovative “classic” ice cream flavors and a welcoming environment for customers of all ages and backgrounds. The ice cream dream is real, and the way Davey’s Ice Cream does it, the ingredients are, too.

It’s Ice … Cream (Photo courtesy of Ben & Jerry’s)

The following is a press release from Ben & Jerry’s:

Whether you’re a true Phish fan or not, you’ve tried Ben & Jerry’s classic flavor, Phish Food. Ben & Jerry’s has partnered with Phish for a third flavor to celebrate the 21st anniversary of The WaterWheel Foundation! It’s Ice… Cream features a caramel malt ice cream with almond toffee pieces, fudge fish and a caramel swirl and was one of the original flavor concepts in the running, back in 1997, to become Phish Food. Luckily, Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Gurus never lose sight of a good flavor concept and have brought it to pints. A portion of all proceeds will benefit The WaterWheel Foundation.

Phish artist Jim Pollock designed an exclusive poster for It’s Ice…Cream. Available at store.benjerry.com.

To celebrate It’s Ice…Cream, named after the 1991 Phish song “It’s Ice”, Ben & Jerry’s has created a one-of-a-kind pack featuring exclusive artwork by renowned Phish poster artist, Jim Pollock. But the artwork doesn’t stop with the Ben & Jerry’s pint. Ben & Jerry’s will be offering a merchandise gift pack available in limited quantities through store.benjerry.com, which includes a special poster design by Pollock. All proceeds of merchandise sales will directly benefit The WaterWheel Foundation.

Phish drummer Jon Fishman notes “For over twenty years, Phish has enjoyed a great partnership with Ben & Jerry’s and we’re excited that this new creative flavor can continue to support the work of The WaterWheel Foundation.”

It’s Ice… Cream is a part of Ben & Jerry’s uber-limited line known as Special Stash, which can be purchased exclusively at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops, store.benjerry.com, and select retailers.

Ben and Jerry’s products are distributed in 35 countries in supermarkets, grocery stores, convenience stores, franchise Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops, restaurants and other venues. The Ben & Jerry’s Foundation’s employee-led grant programs totaled $2.7MM in 2017 to support grassroots organizing for social and environmental justice around the country.

About The WaterWheel Foundation:
The WaterWheel Foundation was created by Phish in 1997 to oversee the band’s various charitable activities.  These include Phish Food’s support of a clean Lake Champlain and it’s surrounding basin, relief funds created post-natural disaster eras for both the state of Vermont and the island of Tortola, and a cancer research fund as well as supporting a large sphere of needs including social services, primarily those benefitting women and children; environmental, with a focus on clean water and land conservation with public access; as well as food banks, urban gardening and arts education.

Our primary effort then and now is our Touring Division, though in keeping with our “Local” mission we also support Vermont-based non-profits and others in need. From its debut the mission of WaterWheel’s Touring Division has been to raise funds for pre-selected non-profits in each community that Phish visits while on tour. In essence, WaterWheel is the Phish community coming together to share in positive ways with the local communities the fans all visit on tour stops. The net proceeds raised at each show – fan donations plus the sale of WaterWheel logo merchandise and items autographed by the band – are donated to the organization tabling at the show, after deducting overhead costs. Thanks to the generosity of the fans and the band, since its creation WaterWheel has donated over $4,000,000 to organization across the country.
