The inaugural Tribeca TV Festival, presented by AT&T, is expanding its lineup of storytellers whose voices are driving conversations – from social issues to pop culture – across screens. New additions include: the series premiere of OWN’s “Released,” a powerful docuseries that chronicles formerly-incarcerated men and women restarting their lives, which will be followed by a conversation with Executive Producer Oprah Winfrey and the creators; an engaging talk with Trevor Noah and writers of “The Daily Show” about the role of comedians in today’s mercurial political landscape; the season premiere of Blackpills’ sex comedy web-series
“Pillow Talk,” and the world premiere of YouTube Red’s screwball cop comedy “Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television” from director Rawson Marshall Thurber.
Over three days, the Tribeca TV Festival will bring people together to discover new series and be the first to see new episodes of returning shows– on the big screen. Panels with the creative minds behind the programs will follow each event, in addition to standalone conversations with some of the biggest names in television. The Tribeca TV Festival runs September 22-24 in New York City.
These additions join the Festival’s previously announced line-up: an exclusive cast and creators reunion and celebration of Will & Grace (NBC) ahead of its reboot this fall; series premieres of “At Home with Amy Sedaris” (truTV), “Liar” (SundanceTV), and “Ten Days in the Valley” (ABC); as well as season premieres of “Designated Survivor” (ABC) and “Red Oaks” (Amazon); the midseason premiere of “Queen Sugar” (OWN), and sneak peeks of upcoming episodes of “Better Things” (FX) and “Gotham” (FOX). YouTube will bring their Creators for Change with an event premiering new work from rising and established YouTubers using their platform to tell artful stories of social change and tolerance. In addition, new original VR documentary series “Look But With Love” will debut.

In a country with the highest rate of incarceration in the world, what does it take to succeed in the crucial first 90 days after being released from prison? Intimately following the stories of former inmates from the moment they walk out the prison doors, OWN’s new documentary series Released examines the realities and challenges of life after incarceration. Following the New York premiere of the series’ first episode, Executive Producer Oprah Winfrey will be joined by the series creators for an in-depth conversation about their powerful show and the nationwide issue of mass incarceration.

Trevor Noah & the Writers of “The Daily Show” – Exclusive Special Conversation
In today’s mercurial political landscape, where the news can change on a dime, how does “The Daily Show” stay current with just 24 hours to write and execute each episode? Offering a sneak peek behind the show’s iconic news desk, host Trevor Noah will be joined by some of his writers to shed light on what goes into the day-to-day making of “The Daily Show” – from the writers’ room to the live studio audience. “Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television”* (YouTube Red) – Series World Premiere
“NYPD Blue,” “Cagney & Lacey,” “Law & Order”: television has a long history of procedurals filled with the ups and downs of tumultuous cop duos. But how would those famously cranky detectives feel about a (ridiculously vain) Hollywood actor as their partner? Enter “Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television”*, a riotous spoof on classic police dramas starring—spoiler alert—Ryan Hansen (“Veronica Mars,” “Party Down”) as a hilariously exaggerated version of himself. Struggling to keep his career alive by becoming the latest recruit for an LAPD program pairing actors with homicide detectives, YouTube Red’s newest original series pairs Hansen with Emmy nominee Samira Wiley (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Orange Is The New Black”) as prickly detective Jessica Mathers, as they attempt to solve murders without killing each other first.

With an overwhelming amount of TV programming currently available to viewers, the Tribeca TV Festival in New York City will be a trusted curator to help audiences connect with the most compelling episodic storytelling in the new age of TV—presenting work premiering on TV, online, as well as VR. Television programming has been a part of the Tribeca Film Festival since it screened the series finale of the hit show “Friends” in 2004 at the Tribeca Drive-In®. “Strangers with Candy,” “BoJack Horseman,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”: Amy Sedaris is one of the great comic performers of our day. LEGO® Super Heroes: DC Comics™ In celebration of his appearance on the big screen in Warner Bros. Pictures’ much-anticipated action adventure epic Justice League, in theaters beginning November 17, 2017, The Flash will make his debut as a life-sized LEGO model in the LEGO booth. Built from 20,909 LEGO bricks and standing just over six-feet tall, the model took LEGO Master Builders over 250 hours to create. Building sets from the 2018 LEGO Super Heroes: DC Comics collection including Superman & KryptoTeam-Up($19.99), Speed Force Freeze Pursuit($29.99), and Lex Luthor Mech Takedown ($39.99), will be revealed publicly for the first time at the show.
Also from DC, a specially produced LEGO BrickHeadz building set featuring characters Supergirl™ and Martian Manhunter will be sold on Friday, July 21 and Sunday, July 23. The set contains 234 pieces and retails for $40.
A LEGO minifigure version of Vixen inspired by Warner Bros. Television’s hit CW TV series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, will be given away to winners on Friday, July 21 and Sunday, July 23.
LEGO® MARVEL Super Heroes Honoring Chris Hemsworth’s third appearance in LEGO form and the debut of “Thor: Ragnarok” in November, a life-sized LEGO model of Thor will stand proudly at 7 feet tall in the LEGO booth. LEGO Master Builders spent 290 hours and used 33,495 LEGO bricks to create the model that features Thor’s new short haircut as previewed in the film.
A limited-edition LEGO BrickHeadz building set from the Marvel Universe containing Spider-Man and Venom will be available for purchase exclusively at the LEGO booth, on Thursday, July 20, and Saturday, July 22. The set contains 144 pieces and retails for $40.00.

LEGO® Star Wars™ LEGO Star Wars fans will feast their eyes on an incredible new LEGO model of Luke Skywalker, inspired by the iconic character as seen in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The life-sized LEGO model that stands over six feet tall, took LEGO Master Builders 277 hours to design and build, and contains 36,743 LEGO bricks.

It’s that time of year again, when about 130,000 pop-culture fans gather in San Diego for Comic-Con International, one of the world’s largest annual events showcasing science fiction, action, horror and fantasy. The 2017 edition of Comic-Con will take place July 19 to 23, with most of the activities in and near the San Diego Convention Center. Although comic books and video games are a huge part of the exhibits and programming, the most high-profile aspects of Comic-Con have to do with movies and TV shows, especially the panels that preview upcoming projects. The biggest panels take place in the San Diego Convention Center’s Hall H (which has a seating capacity of 6,000) people and Ballroom 20 (which has a seating capacity of about 4,800).
In addition, there are several programming hubs hosted by the likes of Syfy, Nerdist, Entertainment Weekly and Nerd HQ that have become popular attractions at the event. And, of course, there are parties galore. HBO, NBCUniversal, AMC, Warner Bros. Television, Fox and several other consistent Comic-Con sponsors host high-profile annual parties at the event.

Movie studio 20th Century Fox has announced that “Kingsman The Golden Circle” will be featured on this panel, and will include appearances from cast members Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges and Pedro Pascal. They will be joined by screenwriter Jane Goldman and “Kingsman” co-creator Dave Gibbons. It’s also a safe bet that “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” will also be featured on this panel.

From Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 23, FANDOM in partnership with PEPSI will host the first-ever FANDOM Fest, a celebration of entertainment and fans during San Diego Comic-Con. FANDOM Fest will feature a food truck that will serve fantastical pop culture foods with PEPSI drink pairings. Foods will be inspired by popular movies, TV shows and video games, such as Deadpool, Game of Thrones, Naruto and Star Wars. A new food and beverage pairing will be available while supplies last each day, including a spicy Chimichanga paired with PEPSI, a PEPSI FIRE®Fire and Ice Float, Ichiraku Ramen Taco paired with PEPSI ZERO SUGAR®, and Wookiee Cookie paired with DIET PEPSI®.
