The following is a pres release from Food Network:

Families that cook together stay together, and those that do it well have the chance to win $10,000 on new Food Network series Family Food Showdown. Valerie Bertinelli hosts as families face off in a fast-paced, action-packed culinary competition beginning on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT. In each episode, two families are pitted against each other in three rounds of challenges designed to test their cooking skills, recipes and family dynamics. The teams must blow away a rotating panel of culinary experts including Kardea Brown, Clinton Kelly, Antonia Lofaso, Daphne Oz, Jamika Pessoa, Christian Petroni, Courtney Rada, Jake and Jazz Smollet, Tori Spelling, Jet Tila, Isaac Toups, Bryan and Michael Voltaggio, Molly Yeh and more, to keep their family pride and take home the grand prize!

“Family Food Showdown has all the ingredients to captivate audiences with tension and unpredictable twists, mixed with family heritage and tradition, and even some comedic relief, as the families cook together on the clock in a high-stakes showdown,” said Courtney White, President, Food Network. “Host Valerie Bertinelli adds in her signature charisma and charm to this relatable family-centric culinary competition.”

The action unfolds as two families, comprised of three family members, endure three rounds of cooking challenges with surprising curveballs as they vie for advantages along the way. Throughout 13 hourlong episodes, the competing teams tackle challenges from Sunday suppers and delicious leftover dinners, to taco fiestas, and over-the-top breakfasts in their bid for the grand prize.

During the first round, the families must work together to create a dish that represents who they are as a family. As the competition progresses to round two, family recipes and dynamics are put to the test when Valerie announces that each family must eliminate one member of their own team. Strategy ups the ante in the last round of the contest, as each team must eliminate someone from the other team, putting the weight of the competition on the shoulders of one final family member for each. Only one family in each episode will earn $10,000 grand prize and keep their family pride.

Fans can get to know the families before every episode on Food Network’s app as they take on a series of digital-only challenges and can catch Valerie and the judges play a series of Beat the Heat games on Food Network’s Instagram Stories. The following is a press release from Food Network:

This fall, Tyler Florence hits some of the country’s top food cities and pits local chefs against each other in a fierce fight to become their hometown champ in the new competition series “Bite Club.” In each location, five chefs arrive prepared to cook in an unknown kitchen, and are greeted with a game of chance that results in two chefs becoming the competition’s judges. The three remaining chefs then go head-to-head in two rounds of intense secret ingredient cooking battles, where their peers ultimately decide who becomes the city’s Bite Club champ. The six-episode series premieres Thursday, September 6th at 9 p.m. ET/PT with Chicago, followed by episodes in Savannah, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Charleston and Nashville.

“When five of the hottest chefs in the same city go up against each other, the energy is explosive – they are colleagues and rivals, friends and competitors,” said Courtney White, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Food Network and HGTV. “Tyler is the perfect host to oversee the top-notch culinary action and rivalry in each town.”

In the series premiere, five of Chicago’s most talented chefs meet Tyler in an Italian restaurant kitchen they have never cooked in before. Luck determines which two will serve as judges and which three proceed to the kitchen. Round one throws the competitors for a loop when they are presented with alligator meat – but they rally and take advantage of the restaurant’s powerful pizza oven in the hopes of cooking it just right. The most successful two chefs move to the next round, but only one is named the Windy City’s Bite Club champ.

After each city’s battle, catch behind-the-scenes photos and fun moments at FoodNetwork.com/BiteClub, as well as Food Network’s Facebook and Instagram pages using the hashtag #BiteClub. And don’t miss Tyler Florence taking on a few challenges of his own! Plus, get a taste of the food each city has to offer and find out which dishes you need to try on your next visit with the digital companion series Bite Club: Food Network Finds.

The chef who wins the first challenge in each episode will receive a key advantage during round two, gaining access to a special cooler with high-end ingredients that no other competitor can use, before presenting their creations to a panel of expert judges. Southern and Hungry’s Damaris Phillips and Let’s Eat’s Jamika Pessoa are joined by a roster of special guest judges each week, including Comfort Food Tour’s Mark Anderson and Ryan Fey, BBQ blogger Susie Bulloch, Comfort Nation’s Lazarus Lynch, Genius Kitchen’s Courtney Rada and pitmaster Cameron Treu, to determine which chef exemplifies what summer is all about with their dishes and earns the $25,000 grand prize.

“Summer is synonymous with spending time with family and friends, while gathering around the grill to dig in to some finger-licking BBQ,” said Courtney White, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Programming, Food Network and HGTV. “Eddie Jackson is the perfect host to challenge these six chefs in taking their culinary bona fides and placing them on the line, while creating summer dishes that are fun and exhilarating for a chance at walking away with $25,000.”
