Cinergy Entertainment complex to open in Edinburg, Texas in 2018

Cinergy Entertainment Group is planning to open a 90,000-square-foot Cinergy Entertainment complex in Edinburg, Texas, at Resaca Market at La Sienna. Construction begins this summer with a target opening of May 2018.

Cinergy Entertainment will have 10 auditoriums, 18 lanes of bowling, two full-service bars, multiple escape rooms, a fully loaded game floor with more than 110 interactive games,  a redemption store, premium dining options, a multi-level laser tag arena, Sky Walker with a zip line (a gravity-defying, black light overhead ropes course) and multiple event rooms.  The complex’s auditoriums will also have large wall-to-wall screens, enhanced sound and spacious electric recliner seating.

The EPIC (Experience Perfection in Cinema) Auditorium has a 64′ x 35′ silver screen, Dolby Atmos sound system with more than 62 channels, bright digital images utilizing a 4K projection system, ultra-plush electric leather recliner seating, and the newest movies every week. All auditoriums will feature luxury electric recliner seating with swivel table and extra wide space between rows for maximum comfort.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City to debut conference room in May 2017

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey, will unveil an 18,000-square-foot Central Conference Center in May 2017.  The $11 million project, designed by Avenue Interior Design, Center features two stories of customizable event space, including five meeting rooms, a boardroom, and an office on the lower level, as well as a 6,500-square-foot clear-span ballroom on the upper level. The architecture has oil-rubbed metallic and bronze finishes, incorporating custom tabu zebrano millwork and trims with marble, granite, and quartz stone fixtures.

Occupying what was formally mur.mur nightclub, the bi-level venue boasts the latest in technology, offering high definition digital projection, TV, and Internet system capabilities paired with all digital distributed sound systems. Touch-panel controls and décor lighting experiences allow for made-to-order services that can be uniquely individualized to fit any need. Borgata executive chef Tom Biglan will manage the culinary program for Central Conference Center with Borgata executive pastry chef Thaddeus DuBois overseeing the pastry program.

Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort Golf Club & Spa in Florida has re-opened under the name JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort, following a $320 million renovation facilitated by ownership group Mass Mutual.

JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort includes Spa by JW, the JW Marriott brand’s exclusive global spa concept, created to demystify and reimagine the spa experience with treatments based on four core benefit states: calm, indulge, renew and invigorate. Guests can customize their spa experience, choosing from a variety of menu options from full-service treatments to express spa services that start at a 12-minute entry point and are bookable without an appointment. Additional spa programming includes daily beach yoga and weekly spa events.

The South Florida hotel also has a 94-room, adult-exclusive tower (scheduled to open in the fall of 2017), offering a rooftop pool, restaurant and a 12,000-square-foot  indoor entertainment center. Designed by Florida-based design and architecture firm Edge of Architecture Inc., the new tower will have views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Once completed, the resort will have a total of 100,000 square feet of event space—equipped with the latest technology—and 810 guest rooms and suites.

In 2015, the resort began phase one of a three-phase makeover and brand conversion project, including expanded pool decks, a refurbished lobby, a new porte-cochere and grand front entrance. The second phase, which concluded on December 31, 2016, welcomed a complete transformation of guest rooms and resort culinary offerings, including the addition of two new signature restaurants—Ario and Maia—as well as an all-new beachfront tiki bar called Kane.

 

Westin Nanea Ocean Villas in Maui set to open in April 2017

The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, located on 16 oceanfront acres of North Kā’anapali Beach in Maui, Hawaii, will open on April 15, 2017, and is currently confirming reservations for stays that begin on May 1, 2017. The resort, whose name “nanea” means relaxation in Hawaiian, will reach this milestone two-and-a-half months ahead of schedule.

The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas have villas with one, two or three bedrooms. The master bedrooms will include king-size signature Westin Heavenly Beds and Westin Heavenly Baths with showers, bathtubs and vanities. The living areas will offer armoires, queen-size sofa sleepers and private furnished lanais. Villas will also come with fully equipped kitchens and washers and dryers.

The Pu’uhonua o Nanea Cultural Center at the heart of the resort has educational cultural offerings that will honor local history, language, art, crafts, music and dance.  The resort also has a lagoon-style swimming pool, children’s beach pool and play area, oceanfront cabanas and a WestinWorkout Fitness Studio.

Mauka Makai Restaurant (mauka: toward the mountains; makai: toward the ocean), the resort’s full-service restaurant, will pay tribute to the farming and fishing cultures of ancient Hawaii. With an emphasis on farm-to-table, Mauka Makai will utilize indigenous plants and vegetables grown on-site and from local farms to complement popular local dishes. It will also feature the Westin® brand’s signature SuperFoodsRX menu with nutrient-rich and delicious options to tempt every palate.

Additionally, the Inu (Drink) Pool Bar will provide a relaxing setting to enjoy oceanfront views, cocktails and lighter fare. Guests will also enjoy access to resort amenities at the Westin Kā’anapali Ocean Resort Villas located next door, including Spa Helani, a Heavenly Spa by Westin.

Residence Inn San Antonio Airport/Alamo Heights completes $3.4 million renovation

Residence Inn San Antonio Airport/Alamo Heights  at 1014 NE Loop 410 in San Antonio, Texas,  has completed a $3.4 million renovation to its apartment-style suites.  According to a press release from the hotel: “Wood floors add a lustrous touch to the decor, while new, contemporary furnishings in the spacious living areas allow visitors to relax and recharge in style … Outfitted with all-new stainless-steel appliances, the rooms’ full-size kitchens make preparing and cooking homemade meals more functional and stylish than ever before. Plus, guests can freshen up for the day ahead in renewed bathrooms, now featuring modern walk-in showers and bathtubs.”

The hotel also converted its former meeting space into a zone for social engagements, including The Residence Inn Mix, a gathering on Monday through Wednesday evenings where guests can meet and mingle over complimentary food and beverages.  This transformation also afforded additional space to expand the hotel’s fitness center.

Residence Inn San Antonio Airport/Alamo Heights is three miles from North Star Mall; less than seven miles from San Antonio Zoo and The Witte Museum; and about nine miles from The Alamo and River Walk. Free amenities include high-speed Internet/WiFi service, daily hot breakfast, grocery shopping service and shuttle to and from San Antonio International Airport.

Hampton by Hilton has opened two new locations in the Dallas area.

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Dallas/Richardson is located at 2250 North Glenville Drive in Richardson, Texas. The new hotel has 101  guest rooms and is owned and managed by Icon Lodging. There is also a meeting space that can accommodate 60 people. Situated in the Telecom Corridor, the hotels is less than one mile from the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and three miles from Sherrill Park Golf Course.

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Dallas – The Colony is located at 3650 Plano Parkway in The Colony, Texas. The new hotel has 115  guest rooms and is managed by Atlantic Hotels Management.  There is also a meeting space that can accommodate 100 people . Situated in the heart of Grandscape, the hotel is near 400 acres of restaurants, shops and entertainment and parks with views of Lake Lewisville.

Both hotels offer amenities such as free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center with complimentary printing, and a fitness center. Canopy by Hilton to open in San Antonio in 2018

Canopy by Hilton, Hilton’s hotel brand that redefines the lifestyle space, plans to open Canopy by Hilton San Antonio River Walk, in a joint development between Crockett Urban Ventures and Merritt Development Group. The hotel will be managed by White Lodging Services.

The property, located along the River Walk at the northwest corner of North St. Mary’s and Commerce streets, is scheduled to break ground in January 2017, and will open in the fall of 2018.  The hotel will integrate the Civil War-era Alamo Fish Market building into its 22-story design.  Canopy San Antonio River Walk will have more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space, 195 rooms and a restaurant with an outdoor terrace overlooking the River Walk.

Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel in Vinton, Louisiana unveils $45 million expansion

Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel has unveiled its $45 million expansion project. The centerpiece of the project is a new 167-room hotel tower, completed in late 2016. The property’s original 200-room hotel tower also received a complete redesign.

All 367 rooms have a dark wood textures, chocolate and smoky grey color palettes, and abstract modern art. Also located in the new hotel tower is a 5,000-square-foot fitness center with a broad range of exercise equipment, studio space for fitness classes and locker rooms with wet and dry steam treatment areas.

Outside, guests can relax by the pool in a cabana or day bed, enjoying an entertaining atmosphere enhanced by a state-of-the-art sound system, outdoor bar and barbeque pit.

In early 2016, Delta Downs opened Rosewater Grill & Tavern, which has a menu of steak and seafood delivered with Louisiana flair.

Cachet Boutique New York Hotel to include revival of Playboy Club

The Playboy Club will be revived at Cachet Boutique New York Hotel, which will open in spring of 2017 at 510 West 42nd Street in Manhattan. Merchants Hospitality has signed definitive agreements with Cachet Hospitality Group (CHG) to manage the property.

Cachet Boutique New York will feature 107 design-focused rooms; an outdoor oasis, including a Jacuzzi and a wellness area; keyless check-in; and high-speed Internet. The property will be CHG’s third hotel in the Americas and first Cachet Boutique in the United States, complementing the seven it currently operates in Asia.

The Playboy Club at the hotel will feature a lounge area, a game room, a full-service dining room and the return of the Playboy Bunnies to Manhattan.

Cachet Boutique New York’s new signature restaurant and bar Eden will be farm-to-table, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the menu created by Chef David Laris.

Guests can also raise a glass and toast on the Great Lawn, the hotel’s 2,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor wine terrace that has fire pits and enchanting views.  Locals and guests looking for an alternative social experience can take advantage of the property’s outdoor wellness area, the Wet Lawn that includes an outdoor Jacuzzi and array of beautification and revitalization services.

Stars and Strikes to open locations in Augusta and Huntsville

Stars and Strikes will open two new locations: one in Huntsville, Alabama in September 2017 and Augusta, Georgia,  in November 2017.

The Stars and Strikes in Huntsville is a 54,000-square-foot facility located at 930 Old Monrovia Road NW. The Stars and Strikes in Augusta is a 55,000-square-foot facility located at 4238 Wrightsboro Road.

Each location will house 24 bowling lanes, eight of which are VIP lanes in the signature Main St Lounge. The Main St Lounge features VIP bowling lanes in an upscale setting that is ideal for corporate and group events of all sizes.  In addition to bowling, Stars and Strikes will feature other attractions, including a 7,000-square-foot arcade and prize store, a multi-story laser tag arena, bumper cars, the 7/10 Grille restaurant and a large full-service bar surrounded by big screen TVs for sports viewing.  The 7/10 Grille is an American restaurant that offers fresh, seasonally inspired cuisine, including a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, specialty pizzas and other house-made items. Each location will also have multiple private party rooms for events, highlighted by an upscale corporate event room that will seat 200 with a full private bar.

Stars and Strike’s new attraction Escape-ology will be prominently featured in each new facility.  Escape-ology is an entertaining, interactive amusement concept where you use your powers of deduction to solve a mystery.  While it looks and feels like an ordinary room, it’s actually a real-life mystery adventure game designed for small groups of friends, families and co-workers. Your team is on the clock and must solve the puzzles and figure out the clues to earn your freedom and “Escape from the Room.”
