Schick Hydro is proud to unveil the “Schick Hydro Escape” – the brand’s first immersive experience at The Interactive Zone in Petco Park – during Comic-Con San Diego 2017. The one-of-a-kind escape room will take Con-goers through a series of interactive challenges that dive deeper into the genesis of the Schick Hydro superhero Hydrobot – a razor designed like no other to help protect and defend against irritation. Fans will also be able to rest and recharge in the dedicated Schick Hydro Lounge, featuring professional barber shaves and custom swag.
The “Schick Hydro Escape” is based on Hydrobot’s backstory, which was released in a new, limited-edition digital and animated comic book – “Schick Hydrobot and the Transformers” – that highlights an exclusive story arc and also introduces his creator, Dr. Hiroshi Benson. To escape the room, Con-goers must work together on a series of interactive puzzles and physical tasks, many of which pay homage to fan-favorite movies, comic books and video games.
“Fans have watched our superhero’s story unfold beginning with Hydrobot’s 30-second TV debut, to his first real-life appearance during Comic-Con last year, and now they know his official backstory through our new comic book,” said Anastasia Tobias, Schick Hydro Senior Brand Manager, Edgewell Personal Care.
“We’re excited to further immerse fans into Hydrobot’s history at The Interactive Zone at Petco Park during this year’s Comic-Con, giving them an entertaining opportunity to crack a series of codes in a memorable adventure game. The “Schick Hydro Escape” features hidden clues that require both physical and mental agility and unique elements like holograms, allowing Con-goers to truly take part in our superhero’s world.”
Beginning on Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 23 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST, fans can sign up for the “Schick Hydro Escape” at The Interactive Zone in Petco Park. While at Petco Park, Con-goers can also take advantage of the following:
- Schick Hydro Lounge – Beat the heat, charge up your devices, score exclusive Hydro swag, and indulge in a professional barber shave.
- Hide, Seek and Escape! – On Friday, July 21, popular YouTuber Joshua Evan Ovenshire (“The Jovenshire”) will hide and tweet hints in a virtual take on the game hide and seek.
