2019 Comic-Con International: TBS brings ‘Snowpiercer’ series to Comic-Con

TBS, a division of WarnerMedia Entertainment, is bringing its highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer to San Diego for Comic-Con® International 2019. On Saturday, July 20, TBS will present a panel featuring stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Lena Hall, Steven Ogg and executive producer and showrunner Graeme Manson in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront. The session will include an exclusive first look at the series premiere, which will debut in Spring of 2020 on TBS.

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the acclaimed movie of the same name. The series was renewed for season two prior to the season one premiere.

WHAT: In anticipation of TBS’s upcoming post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer, the network is partnering with EXO for the first and only time to distribute “Bug Bars” at Comic-Con® International via vending machines. Created by EXO, which is owned by Aspire Food Group, these one-of-a-kind protein bars are made out of cricket protein powder. Fans just enter their email address into the vending machines to receive a bar in addition to a special piece of Snowpiercer content.

ABOUT: In the series, the Snowpiercer train carries the remnants of humanity around the world after the earth has become a frozen wasteland. While the front of the train enjoys the luxuries of first class, the Tailies huddled in the back of the train survive on daily rations of bars, which are made out of bugs. These bars at Comic-Con® offer a taste of the story, but with a flavor one would expect from the front of the train.
