CBS and the Recording Academy® have confirmed the next slate of performers for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato announced on social media earlier this week they will take the stage for Music’s Biggest Night. In addition, current Grammy nominees Camilla Cabello; H.E.R.; Jonas Brothers; Rosalía; Tyler, The Creator, and 13-time nominee Charlie Wilson are set to deliver unforgettable performances. Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Run-D.M.C will perform with previously announced Aerosmith. Ten-time Grammy winner Bonnie Raitt will deliver a tribute performance honoring Lifetime Achievement Awards recipient John Prine. They all join previously announced performers Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Hosted by Alicia Keys, the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from Staples Center in HDTV and 5.1 surround sound Sunday, Jan. 26 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET/5:00-8:30 PM, live PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on CBS All Access.

Four-time Grammy-winning band Aerosmith first performed on the 33rd Grammy Awards stage in 1991. This year, they are appearing as the MusiCares Person of the Year, being recognized for their considerable philanthropic efforts over five decades and undeniable impact on American music history.
Making her Grammy performance debut, first-time Grammy nominee Billie Eilish is nominated for six awards including Record Of The Year (“Bad Guy”), Album Of The Year (When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?), Song Of The Year (“Bad Guy”), Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance (“Bad Guy”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?).
First-time nominee Lizzo will also take the stage for her first Grammy performance. With eight nominations, Lizzo is the most nominated artist of the year for Record Of The Year (“Truth Hurts”), Album Of The Year (Cuz I Love You [Deluxe]), Song Of The Year (“Truth Hurts”), Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance (“Truth Hurts”), Best R&B Performance (“Exactly How I Feel”), Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Jerome”), and Best Urban Contemporary Album (Cuz I Love You [Deluxe]).
Three-time Grammy winner Gwen Stefani will perform with current Grammy nominee Blake Shelton. Shelton is nominated this year for Best Country Solo Performance (“God’s Country”).
No stranger to the Grammy stage, nominee Camila Cabello is nominated this year for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Señorita”).

The nominees for the 51st NAACP Image Awards were announced today at a joint press conference with Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP and Connie Orlando – Executive Vice-President, Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy. The winners will be revealed during the two-hour live TV special airing on BET Networks on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
Netflix leads the television category nominations with 30, with an additional 12 nominations in the motion picture categories for a total of 42. RCA Records leads in the music recording categories with 14, followed by Columbia Records and BMG respectively with 7. Universal Pictures leads the motion picture categories with 15 nominations, and Penguin Random House has 8 nominations followed by HarperCollins with 4 in the literary categories.
“Representation across entertainment and the arts has profound meaning and unparalleled power to shape perceptions, influence culture, and galvanize communities,” said NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson. “This year’s nominees have conveyed a wide range of authentic stories and experiences that have resonated with many, and we’re proud to continue celebrating their outstanding achievements and performances.”

With four nominations each, Lionsgate’s sexual-harassment film “Bombshell,” Netflix’s mob drama “The Irishman,” Columbia Pictures’ Manson Family murder drama “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and Amazon Prime Video’s comedy series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” are the top contenders at the 25th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 19, 2020. TNT and TBS will have the live U.S. telecast of the show.
“Bombshell” earned nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture; Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role (for Charlize Theron); Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (for Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie).
“The Irishman” got nods for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture; Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (for Al Pacino and Joe Pesci); and Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” received nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture; Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role (for Leonardo DiCaprio); Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (for Brad Pitt); and Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” picked up nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series; Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series (for Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein); and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series (for Tony Shalhoub). The SAG Awards do not have supporting actor/supporting actress categories for TV shows.
Also getting multiple nominations, with three nods each, are Netflix’s divorce movie “Marriage Story,” Apple TV+’s drama series “The Morning Show” and Netflix’s drama series “The Crown.”
Several actors received three nominations each at the SAG Awards this year: Johansson is up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role (for “Marriage Story”), Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (for “Jojo Rabbit”), and she is among the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture (for “Jojo Rabbit”). “Bombshell” co-stars Robbie and Kidman are also nominated for three SAG Awards each. In addition to their individual and cast nominations for “Bombshell,” Robbie is among the cast nominated for “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” while Kidman is among the ensemble nominated for HBO’s “Big Little Lies.” Pacino has cast nominations (for being in “The Irishman” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”), in addition to his individual nomination for “The Irishman.”
Snubs and Surprises

Although “Marriage Story” scored three individual nominations (for lead actor Adam Driver, lead actress Scarlett Johansson and supporting actress Laura Dern), the movie was shut out of the category Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Conversely, “The Irishman” got a nod for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, but its lead actor (Robert De Niro) was snubbed by not getting a nod for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. However, De Niro will be receiving the Life Achievement Award (a non-competitive prize) at the SAG Awards this year, so he’s guaranteed to get an award at the show anyway. De Niro’s sometime co-star Leonardo DiCaprio will be presenting the Life Achievement Award to him.
These movies were completely shut out of the SAG Awards this year, even though they’ve been winning acting awards elsewhere: A24’s “The Farewell,” Sony Pictures Classics’ “Pain and Glory,” Columbia Pictures’ “Little Women,” A24’s “Waves,” Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Richard Jewell” and A24’s “Uncut Gems.”
In television, the biggest snub was for the FX drama series “Pose,” which didn’t get a SAG nomination this year, despite receiving several Emmy nominations, including an Emmy win for lead actor Billy Porter. Also snubbed were the broadcast TV networks, since NBC’s “The Is Us” was the only broadcast network show to get a SAG nomination this year: “This Is Us” star Sterling K. Brown picked up a nod for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. All the other TV nominees are for shows on cable networks or streaming services. Meanwhile, previous SAG nominee/Emmy winner Henry Winkler of HBO’s “Barry” didn’t get a SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series this year, but Andrew Scott of Amazon Prime Video’s “Fleabag” got a surprise nomination in the category.
One of the biggest surprises is the strong showing for Fox Searchlight Pictures’ “Jojo Rabbit,” the Nazi satire that has gotten mixed reviews and hasn’t been getting nominations for its cast at a lot of other award shows. The movie is among the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, edging out “Marriage Story,” which was widely predicted to be nominated in that category. But someone who benefits either way is Johansson, who’s nominated for both movies.
Another big surprise was Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” getting two nominations in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. Billy Crudup was expected to be nominated, but co-star Steve Carell was not. Meanwhile, in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, Reese Witherspoon of “The Morning Show” was snubbed in favor of co-star Jennifer Aniston. However, Witherspoon got an expected nomination as part of the ensemble for HBO’s “Big Little Lies.” Another noticeable snub was Sandra Oh of BBC America’s “Killing Eve,” who was edged out in favor of co-star Jodie Comer.
Diversity and Inclusion

There is very little racial diversity among the SAG Award nominees this year. The movie casts and TV ensembles that received group nominations are predominantly white, and people of color are only 14% of the 50 nominees in the SAG Award categories for individuals. People of color are about 28% of the U.S. population, according to the 2010 U.S. Census, and that number is expected to be much higher for the 2020 U.S. Census.
The black nominees in the movie categories for individuals are Cynthia Erivo for Focus Features’ “Harriet” and Lupita Nyong’o for Universal Pictures’ “Us” (Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role) and Jamie Foxx for Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Just Mercy” (Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role). The TV categories for individuals have the aforementioned Brown for “This Is Us” ; Mahershala Ali for HBO’s “True Detective”; and Jharrel Jerome for Netflix’s “When They See Us.”
In the SAG Award categories for groups, the nominated casts/ensembles are large, but usually have only a few people of color, and they’re usually black. Such is the case with Caleb McLaughlin and Priah Ferguson of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” Zoe Kravitz of “Big Little Lies,” Kirby Howell-Baptiste of HBO’s “Barry” and Nathalie Emmanuel for HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” has the highest number of black people (four) of all the nominated ensembles: The nominated black actors in “The Handmaid’s Tale” ensemble are Samira Wiley, O.T. Fagbenle, Ashleigh LaThrop and Bahia Watson.
Asians are represented the most with Neon’s South Korean drama “Parasite,” which received only one nomination: Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Meanwhile, there is some Asian representation in the nominated casts of “Jojo Rabbit” (director/co-star Taika Waititi is of Māori descent) and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” which includes Korean American actor Mike Moh. In the TV categories, the nominated ensemble of “Barry” includes Polynesian American actress Patricia Fa’asua and Turkish American actor Troy Caylak, while “The Handmaid’s Tale” has Serbian Canadian actress Nina Kiri, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has Chinese American actress Stephanie Hsu, “Game of Thrones” has Indian Russian actor Staz Nair and “The Kominsky Method” has Chinese American actress Melissa Tang.
Latinos had very little representation among the nominees: “Hustlers” co-star Jennifer Lopez (who is Puerto Rican American) got a nomination for supporting actress, and Venezuelan actor Alejandro “Alex” Furth is among the nominated ensemble for “Barry.” Native Americans, who are always underrepresented in entertainment, were shut out of the SAG Awards this year. The LGBTQ community is represented primarily by straight actors playing gay characters, most notably Taron Egerton in Paramount Pictures’ Elton John musical biopic “Rocketman,” nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. The nominated “Jojo Rabbit” cast includes Sam Rockwell and Alfie Allen playing closeted gay Nazis. Meanwhile, “Bombshell” actresses Robbie and Kate McKinnon (who is an out lesbian in real life) play Fox News co-workers who are secret lovers.

Animal Planet’s live weekly animal adoption series “Give a Dog a Home Live!,” is gearing up for the holiday season with a special two-hour primetime edition of “Give a Dog a Home Live!” Animal advocate and host of “Access Hollywood” and “Access Daily” Kit Hoover will join Puppy Bowl referee and host Dan Schachner on a live adventure across the US to meet animals up for adoption, and those dedicated to finding them their forever home. Rescue dogs and cats from Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, as well as animals from numerous Best Friends Animal Society locations (New York, Atlanta and Salt Lake City), will be featured as audiences will be able to interact on social media and find out more information on how to adopt them. The two-hour special will air live from the Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, a state-of-the-art pet adoption center, in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, December 7 at 5PM PT/8PM ET.
“Give a Dog a Home Live!” will share the inspirational stories of three families that are in search of a furry friend to complete their family. They will have the chance of a lifetime to meet and bond with pups live on air, but which pooch will be the perfect fit? Viewers will have the opportunity to help one family choose between three special needs pups to take home by voting on social media for which dog they think they should adopt. One lucky rescue dog will receive a complete mutt makeover by a professional groomer and have a full photoshoot fit for Instagram in preparation of finding a fur-ever home. With dozens of potential adopters on site at Wallis Annenberg PetSpace and an audience full of millions more, anything can happen!
Pet owners are often told they are a spitting image of their four-legged companions. Fans are encouraged to post a photo with their mini-me using #dogpelganger on Instagram, Twitter and Animal Planet’s Facebook page as well as post and share their viewing parties with the #GiveADogAHome hashtag for a chance to see it on TV!

Dick Clark Productions and ABC announced that award-winning actress Lucy Hale, who previously served as host of the New Orleans festivities, will join Ryan Seacrest in Times Square as new co-host in New York for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020.” Emmy, Tony, and Grammy Award-winning actor, singer, director, composer, and playwright Billy Porter will also join the show, taking the reins in the central time zone and making his debut as host of the New Orleans countdown. Returning to the show for her third year, multi-platinum selling artist Ciara will once again oversee the Los Angeles festivities. Ryan Seacrest, who returns as host for his 15th year, will lead the traditional countdown to midnight live from New York City on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC.
“As we ring in a new decade and my 15th year hosting the show, I’m so excited to welcome the talented Lucy Hale to the stage with me,” said Seacrest. “It’s going to be a powerhouse year with Billy and Ciara and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!”
“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020” marks the 48th anniversary of America’s biggest celebration of the year and will include 5 ½ hours of special performances and reports on New Year’s festivities from around the globe. Ciara is a Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter, producer, model and actress. Over her 15-year career, her music catalogue has surpassed more than two billion streams, selling more than 23 million records and 22 million singles worldwide, including chart-topping hits “Goodies,” “Ride,” “Oh,” “1, 2 Step,” “Body Party,” and “I Bet.” Most recently, Ciara released her seventh studio album, Beauty Marks, which spawned platinum-selling hit “Level Up” and is the first release from her newly formed label Beauty Marks Entertainment (BME). Tonight, the world’s biggest artists and pop culture icons came together to honor idols, newcomers and record-breakers at the “2019 American Music Awards.” Multi-platinum selling artist Ciara hosted the show, and kicked the night off with a performance of her new single, “Melanin.” The show aired live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC.

In one of the most talked about musical performances of the year, Artist of the Decade Award recipient, Taylor Swift, brought the house down with a medley of her biggest hits from the past ten years including “The Man,” “Love Story,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” where she was joined by Halsey and Camila Cabello, and “Lover.” She accepted her award with an impassioned speech, telling her fans that all artists want to do is “create something that will last,” and thanking them for the “fun, incredible, exhilarating times” and countless memories they have shared together over the years. Having won six awards tonight, Swift also broke Michael Jackson’s long-standing record of most American Music Award wins of all time; she now tops the list with a total of 29.
Selena Gomez delivered an emotional opening to the show, taking the stage for the first time in two years for the world television premiere of her new songs, “Lose You To Love Me” and “Look At Her Now.”
There were performances for everyone, featuring newcomers and American Music Awards veterans alike. Breakout artist Billie Eilish crushed her very first award show performance, with a fiery rendition of “all the good girls go to hell.” Superstar Lizzo graced the AMA stage for the first time with a passionate performance of her single “Jerome.” Three-time American Music Award winners, Green Day, celebrated the 25th anniversary of their legendary 1994 album, “Dookie,” with a performance of “Basket Case,” as well as their latest hit, “Father of All…” Toni Braxton celebrated the 25th anniversary of her first AMAs performance, and had the audience singing along to her chart-topping hits “Breathe Again” and “Unbreak My Heart.”
The night was also filled with incredible collaborations including the world television premiere of Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World’s new single “Fall on Me,” plus an electrifying performance from Post Malone featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Travis Scott and WATT for the world television premiere of their new song “Take What You Want.”
The show included additional knockout performances from Camila Cabello with “Living Proof,” Shawn Mendes & Cabello with “Señorita,” Dua Lipa with “Don’t Start Now,” Halsey with “Graveyard,” Kesha featuring Big Freedia with “Raising Hell” and “TiK ToK” and Thomas Rhett with “Look What God Gave Her.”

With eight nominations, hip-hop artist Lizzo is the top contender for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards. The nominations were announced on November 20, 2019. Pop singer Billie Eilish and rapper Lil Nas X earned six Grammy nods each. All three artists are competing in the categories of Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist.
In the U.S., “CBS This Morning” had a live telecast of the nominations in the General Field categories. Alicia Keys, “CBS This Morning Host” Gayle King and singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha made the announcements. As previously reported, Keys will host the Grammy Awards for the second year in row. CBS will have a live telecast of the 62nd annual Grammy Awards, which will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 26, 2020.

Robert De Niro – Academy Award®-winning actor, producer and director – has been named the 56th recipient of SAG-AFTRA’s highest tribute: the SAG Life Achievement Award for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment. De Niro will be presented the performers union’s top accolade at the 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020 at 8 p.m. (ET), 7 p.m. (CT), 6 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (PT).
The SAG Life Achievement Award is given annually to an actor who fosters the “finest ideals of the acting profession.” De Niro will add the award to his extraordinary catalog of preeminent industry and public honors, which includes two Academy Awards®, a Golden Globe® Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award®, a Silver Berlin Bear, a Kennedy Center Honor, a Presidential Medal of Freedom, a GLADD Excellence in Media Award and the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Chaplin Award. He was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Brown University.

A Lasting Impact Through Film
De Niro is the recipient of a SAG Award® for his work as a member of the cast of American Hustle. He received Screen Actors Guild Awards cast nominations for his work in Silver Linings Playbook, for which he also earned an individual nomination, and Marvin’s Room. De Niro is a seven-time Academy Award nominee, a six-time BAFTA nominee and a nine-time Golden Globe nominee. De Niro, who made his directorial debut in 1993 with A Bronx Tale, in which he also starred, can currently be seen in Joker.
De Niro’s breakthrough role was in the 1973 film Mean Streets, where he began the first of nine collaborations with director Martin Scorsese. Other films created out of their special partnership include Goodfellas, Cape Fear, Casino and the recently released Netflix film, The Irishman.
De Niro’s incredible repertoire of films includes his Academy Award®-winning roles in “The Godfather II” and “Raging Bull,” as well as Oscar®-nominated turns for his work in “The Deer Hunter,” “Taxi Driver,” “Awakenings,” “Cape Fear” and “Silver Linings Playbook.” De Niro has proven his versatility with his memorable dramatic roles in “The Untouchables,” “Jackie Brown” and “Backdraft,” and several successful comedies in his career, including “Meet the Parents,” “Meet the Fockers,” “Little Fockers,” “Analyze This” and the dramedy “Midnight Run.”
Accomplishments in Television
De Niro’s career has spanned into television where he has received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and four Emmy nominations for his work both on- and off-screen. For his performance as disgraced financier Bernie Madoff in the HBO miniseries “The Wizard of Lies,” De Niro received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series, as well as Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. He won a Satellite Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film for his portrayal of Madoff.
He also earned Emmy nominations for his work as an executive producer on “The Wizard of Lies” and, again this year, as executive producer alongside Oprah Winfrey, Ava DuVernay, Jonathan King, Jane Rosenthal, Jeff Skoll and Berry Welsh, on the Netflix drama “When They See Us,” based on events surrounding the 1989 Central Park jogger case.
De Niro served as an executive producer for the NBC series “About a Boy,” starring Minnie Driver.
Philanthropist and Activist
New Yorkers know him as one of the driving forces behind the revitalization of downtown Manhattan into a center for the film industry. In 1989, he and Jane Rosenthal founded the Tribeca Film Center, the first commercial space in Tribeca dedicated to housing film, television, and entertainment companies.
After the attacks of 9/11, De Niro and Rosenthal co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival as a way to breathe new life into their neighborhood and spur economic development through the arts. Now welcoming its 19th year, the festival brings hundreds of thousands of visitors downtown each year and is a prominent cultural event not only for New Yorkers, but for the entire film industry. Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal were the 2011 recipients of the Rockefeller Foundation’s Jane Jacobs Medal for Lifetime Leadership.
He is also co-founder and co-chair of the Tribeca Film Institute, which supports the work and stories of underserved filmmakers.
In addition to his entertainment and philanthropic work, De Niro is involved in several capital ventures including part ownership of restaurants Nobu and Tribeca Grill, as well as The Greenwich Hotel in New York City and the Locanda Grill, located inside the hotel.

Four-time American Music Award winner Camila Cabello is currently enjoying her lucky 13th hit on Billboard’s Pop Songs airplay chart with “Liar,” after previously topping the chart earlier in 2019 with her fourth No. 1, “Señorita,” with Shawn Mendes. “Señorita” also marked the second No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for Cabello, following her smash single “Havana” in 2018. That single climbed to No. 1 the very same week Cabello’s debut album, Camila, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. November 8, 2019 UPDATE: Dick Clark Productions and ABC announced today a special “2019 American Music Awards” performance by country music superstar Thomas Rhett. Thomas Rhett is teaming up with Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the U.S. Thomas Rhett joins previously announced performers Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa and Lizzo, as well as Taylor Swift, the “2019 American Music Awards” Artist of the Decade award recipient. Dick Clark Productions and ABC announced today that five-time American Music Awards(R) winner and the top-selling female country artist of all time, Shania Twain, will take the stage at the “2019 American Music Awards” to perform a medley of her greatest hits. The performance will mark Twain’s return to the American Music Awards stage for the first time since 2003.
