Dick Clark Productions and NBC announced that revolutionary global icon Madonna will take the stage with Latin superstar Maluma for the worldwide television premiere performance of their brand-new track “Medellín” at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. In addition, more top artists will join the list of star-studded performances at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. Chart-topping singer/songwriter Halsey will take the stage for a solo performance of her #1 Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Without Me” in addition to her previously announced collaboration with BTS; multi-platinum selling artist Ciara will debut her new single “Thinkin Bout You” for the first time on television; and country superstars and seven-time 2019 Billboard Music Awards nominees Dan + Shay will perform with singer/songwriter Tori Kelly.

These artists join previously announced performers BTS featuring Halsey, Kelly Clarkson, Lauren Daigle, Jonas Brothers, Khalid, and Panic! At The Disco, plus a special performance by 2019 ICON Award recipient, Mariah Carey. The 2019 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and will feature this year’s hottest musical acts, unexpected collaborations and buzzworthy moments.

Ciara

Ciara has earned more than 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, six hit albums on the Billboard 200, and sold over 15 million albums and songs in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music. She’s scored No. 1s across an array of Billboard’s charts with singles like “Goodies,” featuring Petey Pablo; “1, 2 Step,” featuring Missy Elliott; “Oh,” featuring Ludacris, “Promise,” “Body Party” and her 2018 hit “Level Up,” along with garnering other Billboard charting hits like “Get Up,” featuring Chamillionaire; “Love Sex Magic,” featuring Justin Timberlake and “I Bet.” In total, her catalog of songs has tallied more than 2 billion on-demand streams in the U.S.

Dan + Shay

Dan + Shay — Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney — scored their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in 2018 with “Speechless,” which kept the position for nine weeks. The pair then completed a record 54-week trip to the top of Hot Country Songs with the four-week second leader “Tequila,” becoming the first act to replace itself at the chart’s summit since 2014. The two tracks are among the pair’s five No. 1 singles on the Country Airplay chart and six top 10 hits on the Hot Country Songs chart, stretching back to 2014’s “19 You + Me.” The duo has also logged a pair of No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart, including their most recent self-titled project, which also became their third consecutive top 10 album on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

Halsey

In 2015, Halsey launched at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with her debut studio album Badlands. 2019 ARDYs: A Radio Disney Music Celebration is rebrand of Radio Disney Music Awards; Sofia Carson is first ARDYs host

Radio Disney is throwing a real-time live party for its most passionate fans, evolving music’s biggest event for families to the newly rebranded “ARDYs: A Radio Disney Music Celebration” (for the past six years known as the “Radio Disney Music Awards”). Actress, singer, songwriter, Hollywood Records and Republic Records recording artist Sofia Carson (Disney Channel’s “Descendants,” Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”) is set to host the exciting music and star-filled event. For the first time, it will be a live telecast, originating from Los Angeles, on Sunday, June 16  (8:00 p.m. EDT/re-airing at 8:00 p.m. PDT), on Disney Channel and in DisneyNOW, with a simulcast on Radio Disney. Multiple Emmy(R) and Producers Guild Award nominee Casey Patterson Entertainment (“Lip Sync Battle” and “MTV Movie Awards”) will executive produce the show.

The ARDYs will celebrate the biggest and rising stars in music, television and movies and create an event designed to inspire and entertain today’s families. Beginning May 20, and during the live ARDYs show, fans will be invited to be part of the planning for the live telecast. To celebrate the third annual “Beverly Hills Dog Show Presented by Purina,” Purina is inviting pet lovers across the country to showcase their dog’s star-studded personalities through the  #EveryDogIsAStar social media campaign for a chance to see their pup featured on NBC or NBCSports.com this Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.

From award-winning cuddles to fantastic tricks, Purina wants to see which dogs are shining the brightest and living their best lives with their owners. From now through April 21, pet owners are encouraged to share a short video or photo displaying their pet’s star qualities on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #EveryDogIsAStar.

To see which pets get their 15 seconds of fame, tune in to the Beverly Hills Dog Show Presented by Purina on April 21, Easter Sunday, on NBC at 1pm ET / 10am PT. The show will bring the stars of Hollywood and the stars of the dog world together for an amazing night while crowning one of America’s great dogs as its 2019 champion.

Maria Menounos, host of the leading female Apple Podcast, ‘Conversations with Maria’ and her dogs, Whinnie and Maximus, are helping to kick off this year’s #EveryDogIsAStar initiative.

“My dogs are the true stars of our family. They have different personalities, but provide us with their own wonderful versions of warmth and affection,” said Menounos. “Our German Shepherd, Maximus, is the family’s protector, while Whinnie, our Poodle, provides closeness and comfort. The Beverly Hills Dog Show will feature some of Hollywood’s famous faces and pet lovers, including “Extra” host Mario Lopez, “High School Musical” actress Ashley Tisdale, three-time Olympic gold-medalist Shaun White, “America Ninja Warrior” co-host, Akbar Gbajabiamila, “Manifest” stars Parveen Kaur, Melissa Roxburgh and J.R. Ramirez, Triple Crown-winning jockeys Victor Espinoza and Mike Smith and more to cheer on their favorite breeds ringside as the dogs strut their stuff for Best In Show honors. This year’s show will feature more than 1,500 dogs representing more than 200 eligible breeds competing for the top prize.

Dick Clark Productions and NBC announced today that record-breaking singer, songwriter, mother and muse Mariah Carey will receive the coveted ICON Award at the “2019 Billboard Music Awards.” The true definition of an icon, Carey has been smashing records since she debuted on the music scene in 1990 with her self-titled album. Over the next three decades she continued to rule the charts, creating anthems, and snapshots of pop culture history along the way. Netflix announces new docuseries ‘Street Food’

From the creators of “Chef’s Table,” “Street Food” explores the rich culture of street food in some of the world’s most colorful cities. Season one explores nine countries across Asia, highlighting the stories of perseverance that bring each country’s cuisine and culture to life.

Disney+ reveals plans for non-fiction programs; spinoff shows for Marvel, ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Monsters Inc.’ also in the works

Disney+, the streaming service that will launch before the end of 2019, has finally revealed some shows that will be part of the Disney+ lineup. The launch date for Disney+ and the premieres for these shows are still to be announced.*

And although it hasn’t been official announced yet, several media outlets (including Variety) have reported that Disney+ will have several spinoff series about Marvel characters played by the same actors who played the characters in the Marvel movies. Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston), Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner), Falcon (played by Anthony Mackie), Winter Soldier (played by Sebastian Stan), Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (played by Paul Bettany) will all have their own limited series.

There will also be spinoff shows for “Star Wars” and the animated film “Monsters Inc.” Disney owns Lucasfilm (the company behind the “Star Wars” franchise) and Pixar, the company behind several award-winning animated films such as “Monsters Inc.”

“The Jungle Book” and “The Lion King” live-action director Jon Favreau is writing and directing the Disney+ “Star Wars” spinoff series, which is called “The Mandalorian.” In October 2018, Lucasfilm and StarsWars.com revealed this synopsis for “The Mandalorian”: “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. ‘The Mandalorian’ is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.” Directors for “The Mandalorian” include Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow,  Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi.

According to a press release, the Disney+ series “Monsters at Work” reunites the original voice cast of “Monsters Inc.” (John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Jennifer Tilly, John Ratzenberger and Bob Peterson), who will be joined by new cast members.  The press release announces that the new characters are “Tylor Tuskmon (voiced by Ben Feldman), an eager and talented young mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team (MIFT) who dreams of working his way up to the factory Laugh Floor to become a Jokester alongside his idols Mike and Sulley. Starring alongside Feldman is Kelly Marie Tran as Val Little, Tylor’s lifelong friend and confidante; Henry Winkler as Fritz, the scatterbrained boss; Lucas Neff as Duncan, an opportunistic plumber; Alanna Ubach as Cutter, the officious rule follower; and Stephen Stanton as Smitty and Needleman, the bumbling custodial team. Aisha Tyler (“Archer”) voices Tylor’s mom, Millie Tuskmon.” “Monsters at Work” is produced by Disney Television Animation, and the series was developed and is executive produced by Disney animation veteran Bobs Gannaway with Ferrell Barron serving as producer. Kat Good and Rob Gibbs are directors.

Disney’s acquisition of several Fox entertainment assets (including Fox Studios, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox 21 Television Studios, FX Networks and National Geographic Partners) means that Disney+ is also expected to have Fox-related content. There has also been speculation about what will happen to the Marvel series that were canceled by Netflix (“Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage” “The Punisher” and “The Defenders”), although the explicit content of those Marvel shows (which would get an R rating if they were movies) might prohibit them from being on the family-oriented Disney+ streaming service. Since Disney now owns a majority stake in Hulu, the more adult-oriented Disney content could end up on Hulu.

According to Variety, Disney has signed a two-year deal with production group Supper Club, whose credits include the non-fiction projects “Chef’s Table” series on Netflix and the documentary films “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” and “13th.” Under the deal, Supper Club co-founders Brian McGinn, David Gelb and Jason Sterman will develop and executive produce non-fiction programs for Disney+ and other Disney-owned properties.

Disney+ has announced these non-fiction shows, according to Variety:

  • “Be Our Chef,” hosted by Angela Kinsey, a cooking competition that pits diverse groups of families against each other for culinary showdowns at Walt Disney World. The show is produced by Eric Day and Mark Koops of INE Entertainment.
  • “Earthkeepers” (working title), a wildlife conservation show produced by Supper Club.
  • “Encore!,” hosted by Kristen Bell, a reality show that reunites cast members of high-school musicals. Jason Cohen created the show, whose executive producers are Cohen,  Bell, Alycia Rossiter, Will Gluck, Richard Schwartz, Jim Roush and Chris Wagner.
  • “Cinema Relics: Iconic Art of the Movies” (working title), a documentary series that examines the costumes and props of famous Disney films, including “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” “Mary Poppins,” “The Muppet Movie,” “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” and “Tron.” The show is produced by ABC Studios and executive produced by Jason Henry and Dan Lanigan.
  • “Marvel’s 616″ (working title), a pop-culture show produced by Supper Club and Marvel Digital.
  • “(Re)Connect,” a reality show that aims to reunite families who have been divided over a serious issue. The show’s executive producers are Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa and Albert Bianchini of Milojo Productions, and Julian P. Hobbs and Elli Hakami of Talos Films.
  • “Rogue Trip,” a non-fiction travel show that explores places off the beaten path from predictable tourist spots. Bob Woodruff and his son Mack Woodruff are show’s hosts, and will executive produce “Rogue Trip” with Jeanmarie Condon for Lincoln Square Productions.
  • “Shop Class” (working title), a reality competition where students of a shop class are tasked with making new inventions. The show’s executive producers are John Stevens and Spike Feresten of Hangar 56 Media and Richard Rawlings of Production Monkey
  • Walt Disney Imagineering documentary series (title to be announced), produced by Iwerks & Co. and directed by Leslie Iwerks.

Dick Clark Productions and NBC announced today the first round of performers for the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, which include top artists Kelly Clarkson, Lauren Daigle, Khalid, Panic! At The Disco and Sam Smith & Normani.  The three-hour telecast will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and will feature this year’s hottest musical acts, unexpected collaborations and buzzworthy moments.

Five-time BBMA nominee Clarkson, who performed her sultry song “Whole Lotta Woman” in 2018, will pull double duty this year by performing her new single and hosting the awards show for the second time. Four-time 2019 BBMA nominee Panic! At The Disco will grace the Billboard stage for the very first time as will Daigle, a two-time BBMA winner and three-time 2019 nominee.  Following last year’s show stopping performance of their smash hit “Love Lies,” BBMA winner and six-time 2019 nominee Khalid, as well as Normani a two-time 2019 nominee, will return for separate performances. Normani will join Smith, a three-time BBMA winner and first-time BBMA performer this year.

  • Kelly Clarkson

Since making a splash on Billboard’s charts back in 2002, after being crowned the first winner of “American Idol,” Kelly Clarkson has notched three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart and claimed more than 20 top 40-charting singles on the Billboard Hot 100 (including three No. 1s). Her most recent album, Meaning Of Life, marked the singer-songwriter’s eighth top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart, and spun off three top 20-charting hits on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart. In total, Clarkson has sold over 50 million albums and digital tracks in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music.

  • Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle has notched three No. 1s on Billboard‘s Top Christian Albums chart, all since 2015’s How Can It Be, Behold: A Christmas Collection and Look Up Child. The Louisiana native has earned four No. 1s on Hot Christian Songs, including “You Say,” which crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40 and the top 10 of the Adult Pop Songs and Adult Contemporary airplay charts.

  • Khalid

It’s been only three years since Khalid made his Billboard chart debut, but he’s quickly established himself as a chart force and streaming juggernaut. His catalog of songs have earned more than 4.7 billion on-demand streams in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music, while his albums have tallied over 3 million equivalent album units. His album, American Teen and EP Sun City, both hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, while he’s also claimed a pair of No. 1s on the Hot R&B Songs chart: “Young Dumb & Broke” and “Better.” His success isn’t restricted to the R&B charts, as he’s also notched two No. 1s on the Pop Songs chart, with “Love Lies,” with Normani, and “Eastside,” with Benny Blanco and Halsey. Most recently, Khalid released his highly anticipated sophomore album Free Spirit.

  • Panic! At The Disco

Over a dozen years into its career, Brendon Urie-fronted Panic! At The Disco is hitting new heights on Billboard‘s charts. The act scored its first No. 1 Billboard 200 album, Death of a Bachelor, in 2016 and followed with its second, Pray for the Wicked, in 2018. The latter LP also generated Panic’s single “High Hopes,” which became the act’s second Hot 100 top 10, and first since 2006. “High Hopes” also hit #1 simultaneously across three Billboard radio airplay charts (Pop Songs, Alternative, and Adult Pop) while also holding the longest #1 position this decade on the Adult Pop Songs chart.  2018 also brought the act’s first two No. 1 hits on the Alternative Songs chart.

  • Sam Smith

Just six years after Sam Smith made his Billboard chart debut, the singer-songwriter has racked up a string of hit albums and singles on the charts. His debut full-length studio album In the Lonely Hour reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2014, and launched the No. 1 Pop Songs airplay chart hit “Stay With Me,” which also reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Lonely went on to earn over 5 million equivalent album units in the U.S., according to Nielsen, while its songs generated 2 billion on-demand audio streams. Smith’s second studio release, The Thrill Of It All, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was led by the top 5 Billboard Hot 100 hit song “Too Good at Goodbyes.” Most recently, Smith’s duet with Normani, “Dancing With a Stranger,” reached the top 10 on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart and the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

  • Normani

Normani took the charts by storm in 2018 with her hit single “Love Lies” with Khalid. The track spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Pop Songs airplay chart, tied the record for the longest-run ever on the Pop Songs chart, hit No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, and collected more than a half-billion on-demand streams in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music. She followed “Love Lies” up with another smash duet, “Dancing With a Stranger,” with Sam Smith. The track hit the top 10 on both Pop Songs and Adult Pop Songs airplay charts, and became her second top 20-charting hit on the Hot 100. 2019 ACM Awards: Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Dan + Shay win big

Winners have been announced for the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards, which aired live on April 7, 2019, hosted by iconic entertainer and 16-time ACM Award® winner, Reba McEntire,  on the CBS Television Network from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The ACM Awards named Keith Urban as Entertainer of the Year, his first win in the category and the evening’s biggest honor. With this win, he will receive the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award, as he previously received awards for New Male Vocalist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.

Dan + Shay won Duo of the Year as well as Song of the Year and Single of the Year for “Tequila.” In addition to the wins as an artist, Dan Smyers received two individual wins as a producer in the Single of the Year category and songwriter in the Song of the Year category.

Kacey Musgraves won Female Artist of the Year for the first time. She also won Album of the Year as both artist and producer, for Golden Hour. Musgraves previously won in the Album of the Year category in 2013 for Same Trailer Different Park. Thomas Rhett won Male Vocalist of the Year for the second time. He first won the award at the 52nd ACM Awards in 2017.

During the telecast, former ACM Artist of the Decade Award honoree George Strait presented Jason Aldean with the ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award. In celebration of the honor, Aldean performed a medley of his hits including “Lights Come On,” “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson and “Dirt Road Anthem.”

Old Dominion won Group of the Year Award for the second consecutive year. During the ACM Awards red carpet, Songwriter of the Year winner Shane McAnally surprised Old Dominion on the red carpet at the PEOPLE Digital Red Carpet Pre-Show with the news of their win. Earlier in the day it was also announced Dierks Bentley and Brothers Osborne won Music Event of the Year for “Burning Man,” and Chris Janson won ACM Video of the Year” for “Drunk Girl.” McEntire surprised Janson with the news backstage before the show.

Luke Combs, LANCO and Ashley McBryde were also previously announced winners of the New Male Artist of the Year, New Group of the Year and New Female Artist of the Year, respectively and each performed on the show. The winners received a surprise phone call from host Carrie Underwoodlast month notifying them of the news.

Shane McAnally was announced as the winner of this year’s ACM Songwriter of the Year Award on Friday at the ACM Stories, Songs & Stars: A Songwriter’s Event Benefitting ACM Lifting Lives, which was presented to him by the event’s hosts Hillary Scott and Storme Warren, alongside reigning ACM Songwriter of the Year winner, Rhett Akins.

Country Music’s Party of the Year featured an all-star lineup of collaborations and memorable performances. The awards telecast once again featured “ACM Flashbacks” with 29-time ACM Award-winning duo Brooks & Dunn performing “Brand New Man” with Luke Combs, and the King of Country Music and 24-time ACM Award winner George Strait performing “Run” with Miranda Lambert. In addition, Lambert, the most-awarded artist in ACM Awards history with 32 wins, performed a flashback medley of her greatest hits.

Chrissy Metz, star of the upcoming movie “Breakthrough,” made her live television performance debut at the ACM Awards and was joined on stage by Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton, Maddie & Tae and Carrie Underwood for a special rendition of the song “I’m Standing With You” from the film’s soundtrack. The powerful performance spotlighted ACM Lifting Lives®, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music.

The awards telecast also featured solo performances by Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton, George Strait, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Additional highlights included collaborations by Dierks Bentley & Brandi Carlile performing “Travelin’ Light,” Kane Brown and Khalid performing “Good as You” & “Saturday Nights,” Eric Church & Ashley McBryde performing “The Snake,” Dan + Shay & Kelly Clarkson performing “Keeping Score,” Florida Georgia Line & Jason Aldean performing “Can’t Hide Red” and Maren Morris & Brothers Osborne performing “All My Favorite People.”

Dick Clark Productions and NBC today announced nominees for the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, which honors the year’s most successful artists in 56 categories across all genres of music.  “2019 Billboard Music Awards” host Kelly Clarkson and chart-topping duo Dan + Shay, kicked off the nominations this morning, live on NBC’s “Today.”  Last year’s Top Rap Female Artist winner, Cardi B, leads the pack with 21 nods, followed by Drake and Post Malone, each with 17.  Other nominees and possible record-breakers include Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Travis Scott and XXXTENTACION.

The 2019 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. ET / PT on NBC.

Narrowly missing Drake and The Chainsmokers’ record of most nominations ever in a single year (both musicians received 22 nominations in 2017), Cardi B is also a double-nominee in three categories (Top Selling Song, Top Collaboration and Top Hot 100 Song). Drake and Post Malone tie for second-most nominations this year with 17 each, both nominated in many of the same categories, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist. Travis Scott received 12 nominations, followed by the late XXXTENTACION with 10 and Ariana Grande with nine. Nominated for two awards this year, Taylor Swift still leads the pack for most wins of all time with 23, a record she could break again with a win this year.

Voting for the fan voted categories, Billboard Chart Achievement Award and Top Social Artist, will open in the coming weeks and additional details will be available soon.

2019 TOP NOMINEE CHART FACTS:

  • Cardi B
Billboard Music Award-winner Cardi B has swiftly rewritten the Billboard chart history books since she exploded onto the scene with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” just a little under two years ago. She’s already notched three No. 1s on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart (a record for a female rapper) and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with her debut studio effort Invasion of Privacy (becoming only the fifth female rap artist with a No. 1 album). Further, Invasion launched with 202.6 million on-demand audio streams for its songs in its first week, according to Nielsen Music — the biggest streaming week ever for an artist’s debut studio album. All told, Cardi B’s catalog of songs have tallied a whopping 5.8 billion on-demand streams in the U.S.
  • Drake
15-time Billboard Music Award-winner Drake continues to be a non-stop force on Billboard’s charts. In 2018, the superstar scored his eighth consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with Scorpion, while all 25 of the album’s tracks hit the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. And, thanks to Scorpion, Drake shattered a Hot 100 record set by The Beatles back in 1964 — he claimed seven simultaneous Hot 100 hits following Scorpion’s debut. In total, Drake has charted 193 songs on the Hot 100 chart — the most of any artist in the chart’s 60-year history. Further, Drake’s catalog of songs recently celebrated crossing the 30 billion on-demand streams mark in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music.
  • Post Malone
After initially making waves with the Billboard Hot 100 hit “White Iverson” in late 2015, Post Malone has been dominating the chart in the last year-and-a-half thanks to a string of hits, including three No. 1s: his Billboard Music Award-winning “Rockstar,” featuring 21 Savage, “Psycho,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, and “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse),” featuring Swae Lee. Post Malone’s second album, beerbongs & bentleys, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in May of 2018, and has yet to leave the weekly top 20 of the list since the album’s arrival on the chart 48 weeks ago.
  • Travis Scott
Travis Scott’s monster Astroworld album opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last August (marking his second leader on the list) and notched three weeks atop the tally. The set spawned the smash hit “Sicko Mode,” which garnered the rapper his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album has gone on to earn over 2.5 million equivalent album units, while its songs have accumulated more than 2.8 billion on-demand audio streams, in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music.
  • XXXTENTACION
In December, XXXTENTACION’s posthumously released Skins became the artist’s second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, following his earlier set, ?, which was also released in 2018. In that year alone, 24 of his songs reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including his first No. 1, “Sad!,” which topped the chart following his death in June. XXXTENTACION’s collection of albums have earned over 4.7 million equivalent album units in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music, while his songs have claimed more than 10 billion on-demand streams.
  • Ariana Grande
started at No. 1 – the shortest gap between new No. 1s on the chart for a woman since 1975.Sweetener opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it happened just five months and 22 days after Thank U, Next. When the latter debuted at No. 1, it logged the largest streaming week ever for a pop album, and, any album by a woman (with its songs earning 307.1 million on-demand audio streams in its first week in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music). Further, when Thank U, Next, and her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, “Thank U, Next.” But then, things got even bigger for the superstar, as she quickly claimed a second No. 1 on the Hot 100 with “7 Rings,” along with her fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200: SweetenerAriana Grande wrapped 2018 in a big way, with her third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200,
